It may be difficult to find pet friendly lodging in Vermont. However, located in Chittenden right outside of Killington is the Mountain Top Inn & Resort and we considered ourselves pet friendly lodging in Vermont. Our staff at the Mountain Top Inn know how wonderful it is to share the great outdoors with your beloved pet and we want you to be able do so in the great outdoors of Vermont. Of course, there are a few guidelines to follow for the safety and comfort of all resort guests.

Pets don’t always adapt to new surroundings too easily so at the Mountain Top Inn we do what they can to make your pet feel welcome and comfortable. Of the accommodations available pets can only share a rustic cabin with you and there is a $25 per pet, per night charge. In addition to the nightly charge, a $200 per pet security deposit is required upon arrival. Once you check out, this deposit will be returned if there are no complaints by other guests, disregard of the leash policy or any unintentional property damage. If your pet does cause serious damage you will be required to pay the full replacement value of the property.

Dogs will receive a dog bed, bowls for food and water and a welcome treat. If you take your pet outside the guest room they must be on a leash and you must clean up after them. There are certain cross-country ski trails and all hiking trails that pets are permitted on so they can enjoy the beautiful grounds as well. If you leave your pet alone in your room they need to be put in a crate, which can be supplied at $15 per night.

If you need a break from your pet there are pet sitters available with 3 days advance notice. The sitters will feed and entertain your pet while you are enjoying the wonderful resort facilities.

Although this is pet friendly lodging in Vermont not all guests have pets so we would prefer to keep pets out of the main lodge, including the dining room, Highlands Tavern, lobby areas, the den and porches.
